Pasquinade – Survey and production
about 10 years ago – Thu, Feb 11, 2016 at 02:25:35 PM

Hi everyone, the time has finally come for a new Pasquinata.

Survey

We're working hard on preparing the survey to collect all the information we need to go ahead with production. The first draft has been revised. We need to make a few decisions before we publish it, which we hope to do in the last week of February. The pledge manager will be completed after the survey, and we hope to open it by April. We'll give you more details soon.

Production

We've intensified our relations with PandaGM, the production house that we've selected for Nova Aetas. We're planning the production phase to evaluate timeframes and needs; the outcome of this planning will influence a number of important decisions, above all regarding the possibility to split shipping. As always, we're sharing the possibilities with you and we will act in line with your requests.

We have received some test materials to evaluate the quality of their products. They're generic materials that are indispensable for certain production choices.

We were well impressed by the quality of the cards, in both the 300gsm greycore and the more valuable 310gsm black core linen version. Our intention is to opt for the latter, but before making a final decision we'd like to evaluate the economic impact on production. We'll update you as soon as possible.

The engraving on the custom dice impressed us as well; it's very accurate in terms of both the cut and the application of colour. We just need to choose the logo.

The box with magnetic closure is one of the possibilities we're evaluating for the "Dual Pack" and "Art Box", the shape will be different but we really like the finish.

The Perilium dial, both clockwise and counter-clockwise allowed us to test not only different possible functions, but also the quality of the punchboards. Once again, we're satisfied with both the alignment and quality. And once again, we're evaluating the possibility to apply "Linen embossing".

The bag is soft, with good workmanship. We're not sure whether to use this option or ask for a heavier material.

As always, we look forward to your opinion. If you have any suggestions or requests, we're happy to listen.

Pasquino, the talking statue of Rome
about 10 years ago – Wed, Feb 03, 2016 at 04:21:18 PM

The talking statues of Rome are one of the most picturesque characteristics of our city.

It's common practice to use these works of art to send messages to the government, a tradition begun in the Renaissance era and still practiced today. During the night, satirical and often rhyming messages are attached to the statue, aimed at the city's public figures.

The most famous talking statue of Rome, and the one most hated by the Popes, is undoubtedly Pasquino; so much so that this ancient messaging tradition has been dubbed "pasquinata".

In an effort to share a bit of (non-academic) Roman culture with our supporters, we've decided to entrust our update to the statue of Pasquino. The set day for the update is Wednesday, and it will be left on a fortnightly basis.

The first appointment has been set for Wednesday 10th February. In this first stage we're working on the survey and the layout of the pledge manager. All the information on how to approach these instruments will be supplied through updates, when necessary.

And the winner is… The contest launched on Twitter and Facebook has closed.

The prize draw was entrusted to https://www.random.org

So without any further ado, the winners are:

The final challenge
about 10 years ago – Mon, Feb 01, 2016 at 12:20:36 PM

Red eyes are scrutinising you with curiosity, hissing words roll off the humongous forked tongue... you're mine!

Its tail cuts through the air as if gone mad as its huge wings lift the monster off the ground, an enormous Dragon stands before you.

Who will win the challenge?
