Hi everyone,
in this update you’ll find a fair bit of news.
Given the postponement of Sine Tempore until March, we have decided to give you a few small tastes of what you can expect for the remainder of the Nova Aetas materials.
First of all, the first issue of Ashes is available to all, while the second issue and those that follow, will be available only to backers and those that register on our website.
We trust that some of you have played the attached promo mission, which will serve as the base for the next ones. Those of you who have bought resin miniatures will be lucky enough to perceive the atmosphere they create when you play with them.
In each of the fanzines, our aim is to provide you with bonus materials or to use it as a broader playtest, just like we did for the trap cards.
The second issue will be published at the end of January and will include: a new adventure, an additional insight into the development of Nova Aetas (we will go into more detail regarding the choices by the game designers), the presentation of another artist and more news regarding other LMS branded games.
BGG
Nominations are open for BGG’s 20 Most Anticipated Games of 2017 and, thanks to the support of our amazing Backer community, Nova Aetas is right there on page one as an early nomination. We couldn’t be more pleased at the support from you, our backers.
Only the top 50 most popular games on the nominations list go forward to voting for the Top 20 and with over 300 games nominated, every ‘thumbs up’ counts.
...give Nova Aetas a ‘thumbs up’ to second the nomination and get us into the next round for voting.
Nova Aetas
In making the most of the extra time we have, we are reviewing the material we have developed thus far.
Today we’ll talk about Circe.
Circe the Enchantress is the legendary daughter of the day and night; she lives on the island of Eea in the Gulf of Gaeta.
Beautiful and sensual as she is, she is famous for luring all travellers unlucky enough to pass by her abode into her home, using her magic potions to transform them into various animals depending on their character, the most famous of which are the pigs.
In Nova Aetas, Circe is the descendent of an ancient bloodline of which the traces have slowly been lost.
Being the only one left of her species, she surrounds herself with transformed men to protect herself and abode.
During the mini-campaign, which will lead you to an encounter with Circe, you will be confronted by the bandits that live along the coasts of the Circeo Peninsula, as well as the ferocious yet somewhat awkward man pigs. At the end of your journey and after confronting the Enchantress, you can use her as a powerful ally (personae) or as a mortal enemy in missions that use the reinforcement rule.
Circe
Her characteristics are:
Ra - 5 / Ca - 6 / Pd - 6 / Md - 7 / Wo - 10
Moreover, her most impressive skill is that of being able to manoeuvre male heroes.
Below you can watch an accelerated video of a new piece of Nova Aetas, one of the ones we didn’t release on Kickstarter.
Can you figure out who we’re talking about?
In the next update, we’ll reveal the answer and more information about him.
Here we reveal many of the things that will arrive with the Vesuvio’s Forge expansion.
The entire expansion is set on the peaks of Mount Somma, where the Vesuvius volcano lies in wait.
Terrain
In this expansion, you will come into contact with a sect that adores the Forge, an ancient cult that can be traced back to the terrifying and gigantic cyclopes.
Various elements will lead you back to the catastrophe of Pompei and Ercolano, Roman-built homes, now destroyed, well-preserved by the ashes that fell following the tremendous explosion in XXX BC.
You will discover the festival of the Gigli, enormous wooden decorated structures, celebrating fertility and abundance, which to this day is celebrated in Nola, in the province of Naples.

Hi everyone,
we had hoped to be the bearers of a different kind of news, hence the delay.
After several negotiations and meetings with Whatz Game, we have decided to announce that shipments will most likely be pushed back to after the Chinese New Year.
Of course we are extremely sorry to make this announcement, but we were left with no alternative. We have been informed that if we want to maintain the high level of product quality, we need to wait. Unfortunately the production of the miniature moulds has taken longer than expected.
There is still a chance that everything gets rolling before the end of January, but we don’t want to take the risk of basing our plans on a probability.
Unfortunately for us, this means pushing Sine Tempore back until March... you can imagine our frustration.
We were a little too optimistic and had trusted that everything would go according to plan - and up until October that seemed to be the case. Then, just when we were getting to the best part, when we ourselves couldn’t wait to receive your feedback on our hard work, we experienced a few setbacks.
We know that many of you have already received the resin miniatures, and we have had the pleasure of reading lots of positive comments, a great sign that our hard work is starting to pay off. Towards the end of the month, the first issue of our journal will be released, entitled “Ashes”, and I’m pleased to let you know that inside, you’ll find all the materials needed for a small game with 1-2 players. We hope these initiatives will help quench your thirst for Nova Aetas, and help us get through these last few months separating us from its distribution.
We know that we’re asking a lot of you, but please keep believing in us, we’re certain that Nova Aetas will repay your patience and trust.
Split Shipments
Many of you have asked for clarification regarding the split shipments.
We can tell you that the mountain of preliminary work during the kickstarter campaign grew significantly due to our collaboration with new partners, and also due to our crazy search for a higher quality product. This naturally had an impact on production, and so in October we decided to split the shipments so as not to further prolong your wait (which in light of the factory delays, proved to be the right decision).
All of the goods will be shipped from China at the same time, but we will agree on a release date with other editors, in an effort to prevent Nova Aetas from reaching the shelves before it gets to your hands.
We remind you that in the first issue, you’ll find Nova Aetas, Vesuvio’s Forge, all the reinforcement packages and the Heroes’ package (including all sheets and cards to play them).
All the remaining products have been postponed, including additional heroes, SGs and Add-ons needed to use the Pandora box, so as to make sure the loose materials aren’t damaged.
Some of you think it’s not possible to play if you don’t have all the materials; Nova Aetas is a game where the story - the narrative element - is very important, but each campaign has its own story, intertwined with other stories and featuring different endings to lengthen the play experience and make it as engaging as possible. In fact, in the first wave you’ll find an impressive 36 campaign missions and 12 secondary missions to play.
To try and appease the craving for our game, we will try and release as much news as possible regarding the progress of works in the next few months.
Following are some of the materials from Vesuvio’s Forge for you to admire:
external walls
interior walls
Blacksmith
In regards to Sine Tempore, we reassure you that we will make the most of these extra months afforded by the Nova Aetas delay. In fact, we are already working on new models and new missions.
We have also decided to eliminate as much text as possible from the cards in response to various feedback collected at trade shows:
Hero sheet
Equipment card
Following you can see the new cards that we are currently playtesting.
Finally, as usual we leave you with a small gallery, enjoy:
basic game models
game boards
Special dice (WIP)
and... a "big" spoiler ;)
our largest model ... for now!
Stay tuned!
Good news from Essen (Road to Essen chapter two)

Hi everyone,
First and foremost, a special thanks to Oliver Salten for the beautiful words spent on us, and to all the backers who came to visit us at the fair. We hope you had as much fun as we did trying out Nova Aetas and Sine Tempore.
As always, your energy is what drives us to keep doing better and offer you the best possible product.
Coming soon two gameplay video with Luca, in the next update.
At the fair, we met with a number of different companies well-established in the games sector, which confirmed that we’re on the right track. Several editors asked us for information about the game and others even proposed a collaboration for their products.
In November, we’ll start to work with Bandua to have MDF buildings (already coloured) for both our games. Those of you who are interested in embellishing your game board need only wait for the start of the new year to appreciate their work.
A fantastic painter, whose name I won't yet reveal (but I can tell you that he’s won 13 Golden Demons), will soon start to work on our pieces to create a showcase of models.
And we’d like to congratulate the guys at Mythic Games, who will be launching their kickstarter, Mythic Battles. They were excellent hosts at their booth and we will be working with them in the future on several crossovers.
You recognize this game?
During the fair, we signed off on some important commercial agreements for the translation of Nova Aetas in various languages, and we're happy to say that Nova Aetas will see the light in English, Italian and French. We’re also working on agreements for a German, Spanish and Polish version.
Warlord Games congratulated us on our products and may even purchase distribution rights for the game in numerous countries.
Another news, in light of the agreements made, which will allow us to keep developing the world of Nova Aetas, we have decided to split Kickstarter shipping in two, thus giving our partners time to translate the material, but above all, giving Nova Aetas time to reach store shelves (after delivery to the backers). In the first wave, you’ll find Nova Aetas, Vesuvio’s Forge and all the reinforcement packages, including the heroes. All the add-ons and SGs will be sent in the first half of 2017.
This way, you too will have time to assimilate the mechanics of the game and finish the base box and expansion campaigns.
Resins
In spite of the fair, we’ve almost finished shipping the resin miniatures. There’s only a few tens of boxes to go and we hope to get them all out by the start of next week. Those of you who went to Essen would have been able to appreciate the quality of the models.
First print run
During the fair, Aaron of Whatz Games delivered the first print run of our miniatures, allowing us to show them to the backers who came to visit.
For those of you who couldn’t make it, we’ve uploaded a series of photos. We remind you that this is the first print run (even though they're already excellent) and as we said in a previous update, the second will be distinctly better:
LMS Journal
Starting from November, those who register (and those who are already registered) on our website will be able to access the LMS Journal, a free Web Fanzine that talks about our products, featuring promotional materials, spoilers and mini-games.
It will only be a few pages long to start with, but your feedback will help it to grow.
Production
Production is moving ahead at full steam. At the moment there are no major updates, the goods should be delivered in December.
Sine Tempore
After collecting all your feedback at the fair, we’ve gotten back to work on the development and expansion of the world of Sine Tempore.
Soon you'll receive a mail with a present for you!
As many of you already know, Sine Tempore is set thousands of years before Nova Aetas, and this will allow us to develop spectacular crossovers.
The Kickstarter is scheduled for January, save for any delays on the delivery of Nova Aetas.
Here you can see one of the settler with which you can play in the base box, Jukas the psionic.
